Gun Control, Out of Control

I chose to write my first argumentative paper on gun control. I believe that is an important discussion to have especially with the latest tragedies such as the one in Newtown at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I don't think that the right should be revoked completely, just revised and made stricter. 

Thesis Statement: Laws on gun control should be stricter to decrease gun violence, slow down the organizations of guns, and to ease people of the dangers of being around guns. 

I also plan to use statistics of homicides caused by gun violence in places such as England, where guns are not permitted, to show the differing rates to those in the United States where they are. 

A Little About Me...

My name is Katelyn and I'm from Brockton Massachusetts. I'm currently a freshman at Bridgewater State University, enrolled in an English class which focuses on making arguments and strengthening them. This relates to my title,  because the title shows an argumentative tone and shows exactly what this blog is aimed towards. Right now I am an undeclared major. Im thinking about going into psychology to maybe become a councilor in a school but I'm not entirely sure. One thing I am certain about is my need and want to further my education. Growing up, money was always a little tight and recently my family has gone through some rough financial struggles along with some not related to money. With this said, I am an independent college student paying my own way which can be difficult sometimes. However, I use my experiences as motivation. I don't mind paying for my own education because I know it'll benefit in the end. As much as I love my parents, I want a different life than them. I want to love my job and I want to live comfortably. Whatever I end up doing, I hope to helping people and to have a positive impact on people's lives.

1.) Drunk drivers should be imprisoned on the first offense
2.) laws should be stricter when dealing with gun possession and make sure weapons don't end up in the wrong hands.
3.) American people should be more aware of where their products are coming from because of underaged workers being abused in other countries.
